Reasons

We placed this class of Market Steers 3,4,1,2.

In our top pair we placed the shorthorn over the light brown cross bred.  The three steer showed the greatest capacity of all the steers.  He accelerated over the rest of the class with a level back, adequate finish and broad brisket.  He exhibits the most muscle and has a tighter stomach.  We grant that the four steer has the larger more developed rump.  This light brown crossbred had a good set to his hocks and excellent muscling through the shoulder.  He also had good length through his ribs.

In our middle pair we placed four over one.  We placed the four steer over the one steer due to this crossbred’s muscling through the shoulder.  Four had a larger and more level rump than one, decent depth of body and shows lots of masculinity.  We grant that the one steer had more body length.  The Simmental showed good muscling through the shoulder, but lacks muscle through out his hind.

In our bottom pair we placed one over two.  The tan Simmental has good set to his hocks and is not overly conditioned.  He has a fairly level back and a has ok set to his tail.  We grant that the two steer has a larger rump than the Simmental in third.  This black crossbred lacks height.  He needs to be bigger boned in his legs to give him a more masculine look.  Due to his lack of height, he has lots of belly weight, instead of the weight being evenly distributed.

Once again we placed this class of market steers 3,4,1,2.
