I placed this class of Holstein 3 year olds 4,1,3,2.
4 places over 1
today in a close placing because: she has a more youthful rear udder
that is higher above the hock, she is more dairy through the hips,
pins, thighs, and thurls, she is longer from end to end, taller at
the point of withers, and more stylish.
I do grant that 1 does have a higher,
wider rear udder that has more bloom to it today.
In my middle pair 1 places over 3 in a more
obvious placing because: she has a higher rear udder, an udder
that is more youthful and higher above the hock, a
tighter rear udder attachment, a more visible median suspensorary ligament, as well as a more level fore udder that has more veining.
I did not fail to recognize
that 3 is more dairy through the hips, pins, thighs, and thurls.
Finally, in the bottom pair 3 places over 2 because: she has
more centrally located rear teats, she is more dairy through the
hips, pins, thighs, and thurls, as well as having more
depth of body. I do
concede that 2 has more veining throughout her fore udder. 2
places at the bottom of the class today because she lacks
the quality of udder and dairy character to place any higher
today. Those are my reasons for placing this class of Holstein
3 year olds, 4,1,3,2.
