Louisville, KY - Members of the Wisconsin State FFA Horse Evaluation team were recently awarded a Bronze, emblem in the national event. Winners were announced this evening at the annual awards dinner, sponsored by DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund Dodge Trucks of Auburn Hills, MI, and Manna Pro Corporation @ "The Calf Manna Company" of Chesterfield, MO, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. The National FFA Horse Evaluation Career Development Event is held in conjunction with the 73rd National FF A Convention in Louisville, KY
Team members were: Andrea Karcher , Alison Luessenhop , Katie Luessenhop and Amber Hoekstra. The team was accompanied by their advisors Martin Speth, and Scott Imire of Delavan, Wisconsin.
The National Horse Evaluation Career Development Event tests the students' ability to select and evaluate horses and their performance. Components include eight evaluation classes of performance and conformation, and oral placement reasons on four classes. Participants also complete twenty problem solving questions on production, nutrition and management of horses. Each of the 46 teams participating in the event competed against chapters in their state for the privilege of participating in the national
event.
The event is one of many educational activities at the National FF A Convention in which FF A members practice the lessons taught in agriculture classes. The event was held at Broadbent Arena in Louisville, KY |
