FFA Mission

The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

FFA Motto

The FFA motto gives members twelve short words to live by as they experience the opportunities in the organization. Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.

FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

To accomplish this mission, FFA:

-Develops competent and assertive agricultural leadership.
-Increases awareness of the global and technological importance of agriculture and its contribution to our well-being.
-Strengthens the confidence of agriculture students in themselves and their work.
-Promotes the intelligent choice and establishment of an agricultural career.
-Encourages achievement in supervised agricultural experience programs.
-Encourages wise management of economic, environmental and human resources of the community.
-Develops interpersonal skills in teamwork, communications, human relations and social interaction.
-Builds character and promotes citizenship, volunteerism and patriotism.
-Promotes cooperation and cooperative attitudes among all people.
-Promotes healthy lifestyles.
-Encourages excellence in scholarship

What is the FFA?

The Delavan- Darien FFA Officer Mission Statement:
We, the Delavan-Darien FFA Officer team will provide leadership, build a better image and understanding of the FFA, help students and peers as needed, set a positive influence of members, peers, and the community and have fun with accomplishing our goals.

Who can join?

Any one can join our FFA Chapter all you have to do is to be in an Agriculture Class in High school, Sign up at the beginning of the school year and we will contact you with in the first week of school.

What are your meeting times?

Our meetings are held at the high school every second Monday of the month from 7:00-8:30 in the school cafeteria.

Is there a cost to join?

The cost to join our FFA chapter is a yearly dues of $20.00.

What activities does the FFA do?

Some of the Activities that we do are:

Food For America
Poinsettia Sale
Plant Sale

What can you do (show) at the Fair?

Beef, cattle, bees and honey, cats, calves, clothing, dairy, goats, dogs, electricity, field crops, flowers, plants, foods, fruit gardens, horses and ponies, knitting, mechanical projects, natural science, photography, poultry and pigeons, rabbits, sheep, swine, woodworking.

Do you have to live on a farm to be in FFA?

No, you do not have to live on a farm to be involved and be a member of your local FFA chapter. Living, in the city or in the country has nothing to do with any of the wonderful opportunities FFA has to offer to you.
